We were thrilled to work with the Big Sky Chamber of Commerce on creating a custom African safari adventure as an opportunity for their members. South Africa was the perfect destination to combine cosmopolitan Cape Town with the exceptional beauty and world-class wines of Franschhoek and then experience the incredible wildlife of the greater Kruger National Park area. Here’s what the guests had to say:

Right from the start, we were met when we got off the plane in Cape Town and were brought to our lovely little apartment suites at More Quarters. We loved our walking foodie tour and our guide, Shelly, was hilarious. You gave us good advice not to eat breakfast today! Every night that we were in Cape Town we received messages about what was going to happen the next day and what our pickup times were going to be so we never needed to worry. We loved getting the chance to take the cable car up Table Mountain - the views were fantastic. It was a little too windy and choppy for us to kayak or SUP with the penguins but we still got really great views and pictures of them. Our guide, Sebastian, told us some hilarious baboon stories that we referenced for the rest of the trip. We were even surprised to get to see ostrich today! The picnic lunch was the best picnic we have ever had - so much wonderful food!

We were all really moved by James’s presentation about Uthando. [Note this is the community development organization that all of Moraway Adventures guests to South Africa make a contribution to]. He did an in-depth job explaining the political and social history of South Africa to us and the work that his organization does. We wish we had more time to visit some of his projects.

Our wine guide, Lieze, was super knowledgeable, and getting a chance to learn about South African wines from Christof (winemaker) was something really special. The food and wine in the wine country were excellent and the scenery was awesome. Neil was even able to go mountain biking one day! Again, we only wish we had more time to spend at Boschendal - it was such a great place to stay.

Simbavati Hilltop Lodge was so beautiful. We could see and hear wildlife from our rooms and while we were at meals. So much wildlife! Elephants, lions with cubs, leopards, buffalo, kudu, warthogs, a rhino with a baby, zebras, giraffes, wild dogs, hippos, hyenas, and impala.

Thank you for such a wonderful trip - we all can’t stop talking about it!
