Conservation Lower Zambezi

Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) is committed to the protection of wildlife and to the sustainable use of natural resources in the Lower Zambezi in Zambia. CLZ assists the Zambian Department of National Parks and Wildlife in their mandate to protect the wildlife of the Lower Zambezi by providing technical and material support, training and capacity building to anti-poaching scout patrols and the support of a Community Scout unit. Support consists of food rations, first aid kits and field patrol equipment, transport for deployments, GPS and technical support utilizing advanced GIS systems to record patrol tracks and document illegal activity data. CLZ also flies regular aerial patrols which provide support to ground-based patrol teams and are key to detecting illegal activities like poaching.

CLZ operates a 100% solar-powered base camp which is home to their Environmental Education Center, Dog (K9) Unit and Incident Rapid Response Unit.
