Set amid the towering red-rock formations of Tinajani Canyon in Peru’s southern highlands, Tinajani by Andean is an intimate six-tent retreat designed for just 12 guests. Each safari-style accommodation combines a sleeping tent with a separate, wood-stove-warmed reading tent, private bathroom, and outdoor deck with a hot tub overlooking the valley. A restored 19th-century farmhouse forms the heart of the property, with adobe walls, a central stove, and spaces for gathering around the fire. Days at Tinajani are devoted to exploring the canyon and surrounding highlands on guided walks and rides, with trails leading past streams, pre-Incan burial sites, and dramatic rock formations. Meals draw on seasonal ingredients and ancestral Andean recipes.
