Today your private Egyptologist guide will take you back in time as you explore the Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Stand before the first freestanding stone structure in the world at the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, and then visit the Pyramids of Giza to see how pyramid construction evolved over time. Marvel at the intricate stone reliefs in the tombs of bygone nobles at Saqqara.
Dive headfirst into the long and dynamic history of ancient Egypt by exploring the treasured hallways and exhibits of the Egyptian Museum with your private guide. This afternoon you will visit the brand-new Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, where you will come face to face with the entire treasure collection from King Tut’s tomb.
This morning your private driver will transfer you to the airport to catch a short flight to Luxor, where you will be met upon arrival. You will then transfer by private vehicle to the Nile River to board your luxury cruise ship, the Oberoi Zahra, in time for lunch. This afternoon you will head out for an excursion to the monumental Karnac Temple, followed by explorations of the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor.
You will spend three full days cruising the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan, stopping to explore some of Egypt’s most treasured temples and historic sites along the way. This morning you will disembark your cruise ship immediately after breakfast to be transferred to the airport in Aswan, where you will catch a short flight to Abu Simbel. You will be met upon arrival by your private Egyptologist guide and escorted to the temples at Abu Simbel, the most impressive monuments remaining of ancient Egypt. After several hours of exploration you will return to the airport to connect back to Cairo, where you will be met upon arrival and escorted to your luxury hotel.
This morning your private guide will take you back in time as you embark on a tour to visit some of the most significant religious sites in Cairo, from the old fortress of Babylon and the backstreets of Coptic Cairo to the Mohamed Ali Mosque and the Citadel of Saladin. Relax at your hotel for a few hours before heading to the historic Khan El-Khalili bazaar, the largest souk in the Middle East, to browse the eclectic shops offering dazzling displays of jewelry, antiques, and other souvenirs.
This morning you will bid farewell to the ancient pyramids that loom over Cairo’s skyline as your private driver takes you to the airport to catch your international departing flight.
