For any adventure traveler who loves nature and wildlife, a safari in India is a bucket list experience, offering the opportunity to see diverse and unique species of plants, birds, insects, and animals while also experiencing India’s vibrant culture and diverse landscapes. We designed this 15-day safari for wildlife enthusiasts looking to explore the very best wildlife in India. Along the way, you’ll encounter native species of deer like the chital and the rare Barasingha, bovids like the four-horned antelope and Indian gaur (bison), and the predators that stalk them through dense forests and rugged landscapes: dhole (Asiatic wild dogs), Indian leopards, and Bengal tigers. Seeing a majestic tiger in its natural habitat and hearing its roar echo through the wilderness is the crown jewel of any Indian safari experience, and your expert naturalist guides will help you learn to identify tiger scat, pugmarks, and territorial markings as you track these formidable beasts through their native habitat.
In addition to magnificent wildlife, Indian safaris offer rich cultural and educational experiences. You will stay at some of India’s top eco-camps and lodges, dine upon delectable meals, and enjoy a wide range of in-camp activities, from guided nature and bird-watching walks to cooking lessons to visiting nearby villages. Your journey will be enriched by learning about the dedicated conservation efforts that have made your experiences possible, from the successful reintroduction of barasingha in Kanha to the creation and management of tiger reserves. Central India’s parks and reserves are a land of wild enchantment, and any traveler lucky enough to visit will forge a deeper connetion with the wild while creating memories to last a lifetime.

Today you will fly from New Delhi to Jabalpur, where your private driver will meet you upon arrival and transfer you to Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore the grounds of the lodge, with an option for a guided nature walk.
Set against the rugged backdrop of the Vindyha Hills, Bandhavgarh National Park is home to the world’s highest concentration of Bengal tigers that prowl its deciduous forests, steep ridges, and open meadows in search of spotted deer and other prey. You will enjoy two dedicated safari days in the park, with early morning and afternoon game drives each day. In addition to tigers, the park is also home to leopard, wild boar, jackals, Asiatic wild dogs, peacocks, langurs, swamp deer, elephants, and numerous bird species.
After a full travel day by private vehicle to reach Kanha Jungle Lodge, you will enjoy two days on safari exploring the wetlands, saal forests, and grasslands of Kanha Tiger Reserve, the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Kanha is one of the only places in the world where you can see the rare Barasingha swamp deer in the wild, and you can also spot tigers, Indian leopards, sloth bears, and Asiatic wild dogs here. In addition to enjoying the many wonders of the reserve, you will also delight in the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of Kanha Jungle Lodge, run by a family of naturalists whose heritage includes three generations serving in tiger conservation. Take a guided naturalist walk to the nearby river to spot butterflies and wildflowers, watch the camp’s resident flying squirrels in action as you dine upon sumptuous dinners, and listen to the sounds of the jungle from the comfort of camp.
After one last morning safari in Kanha your private driver will transfer you to Pench Jungle Camp (five hour drive).
You will spend two full days on safari with your naturalist and guide in Pench National Park, the location where the BBC’s documentary “Tiger: Spy in the Jungle” was filmed. You will be dazzled by the diversity of flora and fauna, from tigers to jungle cats, wolves, gaur, four-horned antelope, and a wide array of birds. When not on morning or afternoon game drives in the park, relax at the pool in camp or take advantage of some of the many activities on offer, from guided nature walks to stargazing to a village visit.
After one last morning game drive at Pench, you will enjoy a five-hour private vehicle transfer to Reni Pani Jungle Lodge near Satpura National Park. You will then have your choice of activities to occupy the next two full days.
