Day by Day Itinerary

Magnificent Morocco
Day 1

Arrive Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco! You will be met upon arrival by your private guide, who will transfer you to the capital city of Rabat. Enjoy an afternoon stroll through the winding streets of the Kasbah (fortress) of the Udayas, getting your first glimpses of Moroccan culture.

Day 2

Meknes - Volubilis - Fez

You will start today with a visit to the Imperial City of Meknes, visiting the grandiose Bab el-Mansour gate and the Dar Jamai Palace. You will then head north the the Volubilis ruins, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman ruins, to walk the cobbled streets and admire the ancient buildings and elaborate mosaics. End the day with a decadent Moroccan feast in the Imperial City of Fez.

Day 3

Exploring Fez

Today you will collaborate with your private guide to select a Fez city exploration tailored to your specific interests. Browse the bustling souks and encounter local artisans whose talents have been passed down for generations, or visit iconic cultural sights like the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and Moulay Idriss II Memorial.

Day 4

Middle Atlas Mountains

Today your private driver and guide will take you on a scenic roadtrip up winding switchbacks through the dramatic landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains, following a centuries-old caravan route. You will stop along the way to enjoy a scenic hike amongst forests of giant cedar trees before descending down into the valley below.

Day 5

To Erfoud

This morning you will learn about the centuries-old traditions of carpet-making in Midelt and experience the warm welcome of the local Berber people. You will then enjoy a scenic afternoon drive through the vast landscape to reach Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Day 6

Sahara Desert Encampment

You will begin your journey through the Sahara with an excursion to Tafilalt Oasis, where your local guide will take you for a walking tour of the village before having lunch with their family. You will then stop to admire some of the historic sites in the holy city of Rissani before ending the day with a sunset camel ride amongst the orange dunes of the Erg Chebbi.

Day 7

Valley of the Kasbahs to Skoura

Today you will awaken before dawn to saddle your camel for a short ride to watch the sun rise over the endless desert horizon. After a nice breakfast at your camp, you will head out for a day exploring the farms, villages, and traditional homes of the Valley of the Kasbahs. Enjoy lunch at one of our favorite local restaurants and an optional afternoon walking tour in the picturesque Dades Valley.

Day 8

Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakesh

This morning you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, where Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed. The road to Marrakesh will then take you over Tizi-n-Tickka, the highest pass in Morocco, arriving in Marrakesh with time to spare to explore its narrow streets and exotic souks.

Day 9

Marrakesh

Today your private guide will take you on a full-day adventure to dive into the many historic sights, colorful markets, and architectural marvels of one of Morocco’s most significant cities. The option exists to indulge yourself in a visit to one of Marrakesh’s invigorating, one-of-a-kind Moroccan spas.

Day 10

Departure

This morning you will enjoy a private transfer to the airport, where you will catch your departure flight home. Departures can be made from Marrakesh or a private vehicle can bring you back to Casablanca (three-hour drive).
